We'll sacrifice some lumens at the expense of comfort. The Apex R series headlamp allows you to put the battery in a pocket or waist belt leaving you with a rather lightweight and very bright headlamp. It's great for longer night adventures where you need a bright and reliable light. We found the high spot beam burn time to be ambitious, expect two solid hours on the highest setting, perhaps more with this newer model.
